Virginia Bickel's newest book Come September  has just been released. Order it now!

In Virginia Bickel’s second book, she turns from historical fiction to mystery. Come September is the story of Daniel Lindsey’s quest to identify the young woman found unconscious in front of his store, and to find out what she was doing on Mesa Street, in El Paso, Texas.  She brings to this genre her skill with character development and dialogue. You won't be disappointed.

This is a shot of me taken at the Ashfield Show in August 1998 when three of my standards of "Waveney Sunrise" had won the first three places in the standards class. I was very pleased. Note the big smile. :)

This is another shot of standards of "Waveney Sunrise" on the showbench. Note the lovely sweetpeas on the staging against the window. The scent of these lovely flowers was quite overpowering in the confined space of the show-hall.

Fuchsias.jpg Here's a shot taken from underneath some standard Fuchsias looking up into the foliage and flowers. Many people think this is the best way to view Fuchsias, by looking up at them you enjoy the full effect of the hanging flowers..

GHouse1.jpg (67403 bytes) Here's a shot taken from just inside one of the greenhouse doors. It was taken at the height of the hot weather and you will note that the staging is taken up with pelargoniums. The Fuchsias were all kept outside during the warmer weather. They much prefer the moist cool nights outside on the grass to being in the Greenhouse.
